How to Paper Mache Clay Skulls

This is how i make my paper mache clay skulls or as i
call it paper clay for short.
I make my clay in half batches.
Because i can't use up a full batch up fast enough.
Here is the ingredients for the recipe
Half of a 5 pound bag of cheap flour
Half a gallon of water
Cup of glue i use Glue all
Liquid starch around 1/8 cup more of less
And joint compound maybe a hand full will do
I mix it up kind of looks like pancake batter
but don't eat it
Then i add GreenFiber cellulose blow-in insulation
R13-R60 cost around 12 bucks for a 40 sq-ft
I mix it into the paste using a drill i like it to where
it doesn't look wet. Wet makes it sticky and i don't like that
but you can be the judge
Here is so skulls i use but any skull will do nicely

First i take a skull and wrap it in  aluminum foil
I just use one layer of foil i try to save time and
money doing so. Sense im making half skulls i use
Weatherstrip to mark my edges. Here you can see
that im not going to do the jaw part of the skull

Here you can see what i did.
This is when i pulled the clay and foil away
from the skull

Here is the inside part. the outside was dry
but the inside was a little wet so you have to
give it some time to dry to

Here i cut out a piece of cardboard for
the back of my skull and hot glue in place
Then i just clay over to and around the edge
of the skull

The under side of the skull after i clayed t together

As you see the two different color clay where
i put the back on this is ok when i make my clay
it some times wont be the exact color every time

Here i trimmed around the nose and eyes
then i painted it with Gel Stain Cherry wood
All i do is paint it on and wipe off the excess stain

Hope this helps you out if you have any questions just ask
